Advance Cartilage Repair Treatment PCMC

Cartilage repair Treatment is a procedure to fix damaged cartilage in the body. Cartilage is the smooth, rubbery tissue that cushions our joints and helps them move smoothly. When cartilage gets injured or wears away, it can cause pain and limit movement.

There are different methods for Cartilage Repair Treatment , depending on the extent of the damage:

  • Microfracture: In this procedure, tiny holes are made in the bone beneath the damaged cartilage. This stimulates the growth of new cartilage to fill in the damaged area.
  • Autologous Chondrocyte Implantation (ACI): This involves taking healthy cartilage cells from another part of the body, growing them in a lab, and then implanting them into the damaged area to promote healing.
  • Osteochondral Autograft Transplantation (OATS): In OATS, healthy cartilage and bone tissue are taken from one part of the body and transplanted into the damaged area.
  • Allograft Transplantation: Similar to OATS, but instead of using tissue from the patient’s own body, donor tissue is used to replace the damaged cartilage.
  • Stem Cell Therapy: Stem cells are injected into the damaged area to encourage the growth of new cartilage.
  • PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) Therapy: Platelets are taken from the patient’s own blood and injected into the damaged area to promote healing.
